The Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC successfully hosted its 18th annual Make It Safe Conference in Vancouver on October 8–9, 2025. Drawing professionals from across Western Canada’s manufacturing and food processing sectors, Make It Safe has been essential for integrating innovation, health and safety, and a thriving workplace culture. We are Safer Together!
The two-day, in-person event empowered attendees to gather with purpose. By focusing on strengthening safety cultures and leading the way to safer organizations in B.C. and across the country, participants were equipped for the future. Through sessions led by industry experts and peers, professionals were able to learn together, gaining knowledge, new skills, and inspiration. Finally, attendees had the opportunity to grow together, building community through mentorship and networking during the Vancouver conference and the follow-up MIS online.
MIS Youth Challenge
Adding an energetic layer of innovation to the conference was the Make It Safe Youth Challenge. This dynamic event is part competition, part career-launchpad, designed to introduce students to the crucial role of health and safety within manufacturing. Focused on student viewpoints and new technology, the Challenge inspires the next generation to think critically and creatively about the future of safety at work.
This year’s competition featured top finalist teams presenting their safety innovation solutions to a panel of judges. Huge congratulations to Yatharth, who was named the 2025 winner! The Youth Challenge proves that the future of safety is bright, innovative, and driven by the next generation!
